3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS TREK (PRIMITIVE NON TOURISTIC TREK)

         This is a trekker’s dream - three days and two nights - exploring Doi Luang CHIANG DAO National Park, one of the most spectacular area north of Chiang Mai. Few trekkers venture into this area today because of the focus on shorter, popular trek. Day 1 :   Depart from Chiang Mai at approximately 8.30 am and drive by truck for three hours to Doi Luang National Park, location of third highest mountain in Thailand. From trailhead, walk 40 mins to Lisu village ( Baan Nalao ), Lunch at village, after lunch walk 1.5 hours more walk to Khun Kong Cave visit around cave 1 hour. And walk 1.5 hours to Karen village ( Baan Mae Kong  Sai ) where we will stay overnight at here or hut in the jungle.
   
Day 2 :   After Breakfast we walk to local waterfall lunch and enjoy swimming there, walk another 2 hours to a jungle camp site, near a stream where we make our own shelter and beds of bamboo and banana leaves. A campfire highlights the evening before sleeping under the stars.
   
Day 3 :  After breakfast take bamboo rafting along Maetaeng river about 2.5 hours. Then take elephant riding about 1 hour to  Shan village for lunch, and where we meet the truck for our return to Chiang Mai around 5.00 pm.

PROVISIONS :
         During this trek you will be provided with 7 meals. Lunch and dinner on the 1st day and breakfast and lunch on the 2nd day. Please have breakfast before you are picked up on your first day. Take one bottle of water with you, you will have the opportunity to buy further supplies from hill tribe villages along the way.

GUIDE & SAFETY
           All guides are English speaking and TAT (Tourist Authority of Thailand) trained and certified. Many guides used are natives of the area you will trek in and know the areas very well.
           Trekking in this part of Thailand is very safe and accidents are very rare but still safety is always a priority. A limited amount of accident insurance is provided to cover some medical bills in case of an injury but it is advised that you have your own comprehensive accident insurance. Before commencement of the Bamboo rafting you will have a safety briefing.

WHAT TO BRING :
         A small rucksack/day sack, shorts and T shirt for trekking (long trousers if you prefer), A change of clothes (shorts & t shirt) especially useful in the wet season to change into at the end of the day, warm jumper/fleece for cool season, Walking shoes, socks, swimming suit, small towel/sarong, insect spray, sun cream, raincoat (rainy season), some toilet paper, One bottle of water. Some money for drinks and hill tribe crafts. Bring a change of clothes to change into after the Bamboo rafting.
